DISPUTE OVER OWEN GUN. FULL PRODUCTION IN EARLY PROSPECT. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The army authorities have withdrawn their major demands for changes in the construction of the Owen sub-machine-gun. This was the outcome of a conference called by the Minister for the Army, Mr Forde, to settle the differences ’ of opinion between the Army, on the one side, and the inventor and manufacturers on the other. A few minor changes, the advantages of which were conceded by Mr Owen, will be discussed with Army experts and manufacturers today and full production is expected at an early date.
