OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

LOCAL CHURCH HISTORY (To the Editor.) Sir, —A recent list of the names of first-born Greytown children was inadvertently ascribed to the years 185464, and not 1854-63, as was intended. I hasten to keep faith with both yourself and readers by adding the 1864 quota thereto: Rudolph Hirschberg. Robert Edward Maunsell, Alfred Thomas Hawke, John Samuel Salisbury, Charles John Lewis Gold, William Judd, Ellen Jane Say well, John Thomas Fuller, Herbert Hodge, Dan Evans Desbois, Alexander Hugh McPhee, William Henry Thomas, Bertha Skipper, Fanny Francis, George Walter Kempton and Charles Sayer. I am indebted to your country district news columns for unknowingly unravelling for me the more faded caligraphy appearing in the historic church tomes from which so much interesting data has, thanks to your editorial generosity in printing it, been made most widely known. —Yours, etc., N.J.B. Masterton, November 24, 1941.
