VINSON CUP
WON BY MASTERTON MODEL PLANES COMPETITIONS. SUCCESSFUL GATHERING AT ' PARAPARAUMU. A contest between Wellington, Foxton and Masterton Model Aeroplane Clubs was held at Paraparaumu during the week-end. The Masterton Club regained the Vinson Cup by 9 points to 5 points, after an unsuccessful attempt a month ago. These outings are greatly appreciated by members, and the success achieved by the Masterton visitors made the trip well worth while.
The weather was favourable for model planes, but the grass on the aerodrome was fairly long, and spoilt good landings. During the gathering no less than 9 Air Force planes landed and took off again. Members were able to inspect these aeroplanes on the ground,, an experience which will long be remembered
