Mr Duff Cooper and Lady Diana Duff Cooper arrived at Christchurch by air from Auckland on Saturday. The aeroplane was delayed by bad weather and at one stage the pilot considered the possibility of having to turn back. However, the journey was continued and, escorted by a bomber from Wigram over the last stages, the plane landed safely at 2.15 p.m., two hours behind scheduled time.
Mr Duff Cooper and Lady Diana Duff Cooper spent the weekend as guests of the Governor-General and Lady Newall at their Christchurch home. Tomorrow they will leave by air for Wellington, where they will be guests at a State luncheon.
