Mrs A. J. Sedcole, of Pongaroa, is visiting Dannevirke. Mrs J. Urquhart, of Opotiki, is visiting Masterton, being the guest of her mother, Mrs J. C. Judd, Essex Street. The death occurred at Oriental Parade, Wellington, on Saturday of Mrs Jane Eliza Stevens, widow of the late Mr James Stevens, formerly of Wairarapa, at the age of 87 years. Mrs A. 0. Pike, who died on Friday at Martinborough, was the elder daughter of the late Mr Thos. Riddler, Petone, who. belonged to one of the earliest pioneering families of that district. She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs Jack Wall, Martinborough, Mrs Grahame Dickson, Blenheim, and Mr John Pike, Wellington. The death occurred at Taradale recently of Mrs Ellen Virginia Brown, widow of the late Mr George Brown, Greenweadows, at the age of 69. Mrs Brown had been a resident of Napier, Taradale and Greenmeadows districts since she came to Napier from Auckland in 1908. Born in England, she came to New Zealand as an infant. After leaving Napier for Taradale she took over the Roskilda tea gardens, which she successfully managed for 10 years.
