The Hon. F. Jones, Minister of Defence,. will leave Wellington tonight for Dunedin. The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, Prime Minister, returned to Wellington yesterday from Auckland. He will leave tonight for Dunedin. Mr Will Thomas, District Governor of Rotary in New Zealand, will pay an official visit to the Masterton Rotary Club on Wednesday. During his stay in Masterton he will be the guest of Mr and Mrs S. L. P. Free. The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs .and Social Security, will leave Wellington by the steamer express tonight for Christchurch to fulfil a number of engagements connected with the departments under his control. Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, was farewelled by members of the Canterbury divisional committees of the National Party, at a recent gathering. Mr Holland is to go to Great Britain at the invitation of the' Empire Parliamentary Association. Mr Edward H. Major, who was closely allied to the business side of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., in Australia, for many years,, died in Melbourne recently. Mr Major, who visited New Zealand on two or three occasions, joined the firm in 1899, and was appoined secretary in 1911, a position he held for many years.
