BAKED APPLES
TRY THEM FOR BREAKFAST. Wash and. core as many apples as required and fill cavity with the following: Soak some prunes until soft, allowing two for each apple. Drain well and chop into pieces. Add a little ground cinnamon, ginger or nutmeg, a few dates, and the grated rind of 1 lemon. Place a dot of butter on top, sprinkle with a little brown sugar, and bake in a moderate oven until soft. Serve cold.
