CARTERTON
WEDDING MORGAN—McCANN. (“Times-Age” Special.) Quietly celebrated last Wednesday at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Carterton, the Rev. W. F. Stent officiating, was the wedding of Amy-Winifred, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. McCann, .Carterton, and Cecil Ronnel, elder son yof Mr W. J. Morgan and the late Mrs Morgan, of Dargaville. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was daintily attired in a dusky rose ensemble of suede crepaline, with small two-tone matching hat, finished with two small ostrich plumes and veil. An exquisite boquet of pink rose buds and maidenhair fern completed a charming toilette. Her only attendant was her sister, Mrs Max Rogers, who was dressed in a model frock of light moss green, in a similar material to the bride, with finely shirred sleeves, shoulder and waist lines, and a small black hat worn with a veil. Her bouquet was in shades to tone with her frock. Mr Pat Wilson, of Cross Creek, was best man. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two silver by her small cousins, Danny and Parry Jensen. Later, at the home of the bride’s parents, near relatives were entertained at afternoon tea. The wedding cake, which was made by the bride’s sister, was iced by Mrs K. Johnson, a novelty being the miniature bride which topped the cake. Among the many congratulatory messages received were two cables from the bride’s brother, Ray and Erol, who are serving with the forces in the Middle East. Mr and Mrs C. R. Morgan later left on a tour of the North Island, the bride wearing a black pin stripe tailored costume with a shoulder spray of lily-of-the-valley, and a small black hat and accessories to tone.
