BOXING

BOUT AT WELLINGTON. WIN FOR HANHAM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Showing all the science, speed, and sound defence which have made him a dual professional boxing champion of the Dominion, Cliff Hanham, Waimate, retained his light-heavyweight title before a, crowded house at the Wellington Town Hall last night by decisively outpointing George Allen, who is now in the Army, over 15 rounds. Hanham called the tune practically throughout, showing nimble footwork, and bringing his right over at speed. Allen made a gallant challenge for the title, but was beaten to the punch in almost every round.
