Middle East communique states: “R.A.F. bombers successfully attacked store dumps and motor transport workshops at Derna during Tuesday ni°-ht Fires and explosions followed the raids. At Berka, where ordnance stores were bombed, explosions took place, and one fire which broke out was seen a hundred miles from the target. Other raids were made on objectives at Wadi Schemra. on transport and stores at the Galaza South landing ground, and on enemy road communications in Libya. Considerable damage was caused in a raid on an aerodrome at Mallaha, near Tripoli, yesterday, Direct hits were obtained on hangars, workshops and aircraft on the ground, as well as vehicles on neighbouring roads, were machine-gunned. “In Sicily, the aerodrome at Gelat was attacked. One CR 42 was destroyed on the ground, and others were severely damaged. One Junkers 67, encountered over the aerodrome, was shot down. , . “From these operations, four of our aircraft are missing.”
