CHRISTMAS CARDS
PROHIBITED IN BRITAIN.(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, November 11. Prohibition of the production of Christmas cards is among the drastic restrictions of a Ministry of Supply order. Posters, directories, guide-books, programmes and calendars are also restricted or banned. No new shops are to be permitted to open after January 1, 1942, except under licence. Existing shops are not permitted to sell goods which were not sold previously. Food shops are excluded from the order, which is designed to prevent waste of the national resources.
