HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
SPRING SHOW. TO BE HELD NEXT WEDNESDAY. Arrangements for the Horticultural Society’s flower (show, which will be held in the Municipal Hall, Masterton, on Wednesday, November 19, are proceeding satisfactorily, and judging from the support which has been promised, there is every reason to believe that the competition will be excellent. Altogether there are 168 classes covering all phases of flower, fruit and vegetable culture, and embracing also decorative work, home industries, fancywork and sketching. Particular attention is drawn to the sketching section, which in the past has provided exhibits of outstanding quality. There is a class for open competition, and a class for juvenile competition, this latter being restricted to competitors under the age of seventeen years. Entries for the sketching section close with the secretary on Monday, November 17. Schedules may be obtained from the secretary, Mr E. K. Eastwood, 5 Perry Street, Masterton (telephone 1077).
