BITTER FIGHTING
FOR ISLAND SOUTH OF FOOCHOW CHINESE CLAIM SUCCESS. EXPULSION OF JAPANESE GARRISON. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) HONG KONG, November 11. Chinese sources have revealed that bitter fighting has been in progress since Sunday, for the possession of a small island 30 miles south of Foochow. The Chinese claim to have expelled the Japanese garrison of about 1,000 men.
