OPPOSED TO GERMANS ON MOSCOW FRONT Fierce Fighting on Outskirts of Tula INCESSANT ENEMY ATTACKS IN SOUTH RUSSIA OF TULA NO IMPORTANT CHANGE IN SITUATION LONDON, November 11. Reports from the Russian front state that the fiercest fighting is in progress in the southern outskirts of Thia, the big town . 100 miles south of Moscow. Here the Germans are attacking regardless of losses and are being met by what the Russians describe as an impassable wall of artillery fire. In spite of huge losses of men, guns and tanks, the Germans are persisting m their attacks. The Germans are reported to be held firmly also m attacks on the crossings of the River Oka and elsewhere. The “Pravda” says'the Germans are regrouping their forces in the Malo Yaroslavets area, while in the Mojaisk area considerably greater activity is reported. Messages from Berlin say that the Germans are finding all movement of traffic difficult in the Moscow zone. The roads thaw every day after night frosts. „ In South Russia, according to the Moscow paper “Izvestia, the Germans have taken advantage of the last week of fine weather to engage in incessant attacks, but these are stated to have brought about no important change in the situation. There is little news of the Crimea except a Vichy report which claims that the Germans and Rumanians are now only 20 miles distant from Kerch, at the eastern tip of the peninsula. .
