POLAND’S DAY
NEW ZEALAND GOOD WISHES PRIME MINISTER’S MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT. CONFIDENCE IN ULTIMATE LIBERATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following telegram has been sent by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, to the President of Poland:— “On the occasion of the anniversary • of Poland’s National Day, I desire on behalf of the Government and people-' of New Zealand to extend through you' < to the Polish people a message of wholehearted admiration ; for the fortitude and courage with which they are bearing their ordeal today, and to congratulate the soldiers, sailors and airmen, ofPoland who are fighting so gallantly side by side with our own forces. Their task is our task, and we look forward with full confidence to the day of common victory, and with it the liberation of the Polish people.” POLES IN DOMINION DESIRE TO TAKE PART IN WAR EFFORT. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, has received the following telegram from Mr R. Borrin on behalf of the Polish Committee in New Zealand: — “Poles in New Zealand commemorating today their Independence Day wish to assure you of their; loyalty and devotion and of their desire to take part in the war effort of New Zealand people in the common cause of defeating German aggression.”
