COSY THEATRE
“TIGHT SHOES.”
“Tight Shoes” and “The Great Train Robbery” will be finally shown tonight.
“THE PENALTY.”
Two gripping action films comprise the programme which will be shown tomorrow night at the Cosy Theatre, and those who prefer their motion picture entertainment fast-moving will find this bill well to their liking. The principal attraction is “The Penalty,” in which Edward Arnold, Lionel Barrymore, Gene Reynolds and Marsha Hunt have the leading roles. This film is replete with thrills. The drama, based on a New York stage “hit,” traces the chequered career of the son of a gangster, imbued with the savage ethics of his father, who shuns the precepts of his environment and comes to love the simple life of the country, when the authorities send him there to help a farmer as his probational work. The opening sequences, showing the environment of the boy, feature gang wars, machine-gun fights, and robberies, and are truly thrilling. Edward Arnold stands out prominently as the father.
The supporting feature is “Fast and Furious,” which is a picture that will appeal.
