COSY THEATRE
“TIGHT SHOES.” Damon Runyon's short-story classic is brought to the screen in the Universale production, “Tight Shoes,” which will head the double-feature programme tonight at the Cosy Theatre. At the head of a strong cast appears John Howard, who was recently seen in “The Philadelphia Story” and “The Invisible Woman,” and opposite him is cast Binnie'Barnes, who has the role of a beautiful but somewhat mercenary minded stage actress. The story traces the hilarious misadventures of Brod Crawford, who has the main comedy lead, after he insists on buying a pair of shoes a size too small. With his lady friend he sets off to the races and soon his feet are extremely sore. When he notices that a horse named Feet First is running at the races, he naturally decides that he will back it. He does so with his employer’s money and when the horse does not win he is placed in an awkward position. Troubles follow for him, one after another, and he finds himself enmeshed in the crooked dealings of a gang to which he belongs. • XI. XT. -n The supporting feature is the thrilling drama, “The Great Train Robbery.”
