W.C.T.U.

MASTERTON BRANCH.

ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS.

At the annual meeting of the local branch of the W.C.T.U., Miss Tankersley presided over a good attendance. Several apologies for absence were received.

The devotions -were led by Mrs Jansen, who emphasised the power of weakness. It was decided to send a letter of congratulation to the Levin Union in regard to its pretest against a wet canteen for the W.A.A.F. at the Air Force Station at Weraroa.

Mrs Kings supplied the temperance fact as follows: “Alcohol in large doses is a rapid and deadly poison; in small doses a slow but sure poison.—Dr. J. J. Ridge.” Motions of sympathy were passed to two members who have suffered bereavements.

The anntial reports, and balance sheet were duly adopted.
