MEETING AT CANBERRA

ATTENDED BY DUFF COOPER.

FAR EAST SITUATION SURVEYED,

LONDON, November 7. Mr. A. Duff Cooper, Britain’s

special envoy, attended a meeting

of the Australian War Advisory Council in Canberra today.

The Federal Prime Minister (Mr. J. Curtin) stated later that the whole Far Eastern situation was surveyed and that Mr. Duff Cooper had spoken frankly and comprehensively. Mr. Duff Cooper would report to his Government and until this report reached London there could be no intimation of the subjects discussed except in general terms.
