BACKED BY BOHEMIAN HIRELINGS PENALTIES FOR LISTENING TO FOREIGN RADIO. GERMAN TROOPS SENT TO YUGOSLAVIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, November 5. The puppet Government of Bohemia and Moravia has broadcast an appeal to the people to return to their places of work and to remain there under all circumstances. The broadcast referred to “the sober attitude shown during the past weeks, when Germany was forced to take strong measures against individuals threatening the nation’s security.”
The followers of Dr. Benes are bitterly asailed. “These emigres,” it is declared, “have no right to interfere in our internal affairs.”
The broadcast threatened severe penalties for listening to foreign broadcasts.
It is reported from Ankara that the Germans have sent a division of troops to Yugoslavia with the object of suppressing Serb patriots who are daringly raiding the railways between Belgrade and Nish. It is believed that the troops were transferred from Greece and Bulgaria.
The Prague radio announced that five butchers had been hanged for sabotage, involving the illicit slaughtering of cattle and pigs.
