COSY THEATRE

“GOLD RUSH MAISIE.” The chief picture tonight will be “Gold Rush Maisie,” the most recent of the now deservedly- popular “Maisie” films, with Anne Sothern once more taking the part of the dyna-. mic girl of the title role. This time Maisie is “Gold Rush Maisie,” and is first seen driving a broken-down car to a town where she expects to get a job. She becomes stuck in a ghost town, but receives little sympathy from Bill Anders, a ranch owner who has isolated himself and does not welcome company. Then she is given a lift in a decrepit car by the simple, homely Davis family, who are hoping to stake a claim for a homestead. Unable to proceed with her journey, Maisie learns of a gold rush, and joins the Davis family in its dash to the locality. She gives the family all the assistance she can, but their dreams of do not materialise. However, by this time Bill Anders has realised Maisie’s charm and honesty, and allows the Davis family to make their home on his property. The star carries out her role with all the vim and vigour which made the preceding Maisie ; stories so well received, and also in the cast are Lee Bowman, Slim Somerville, Virginia Weidler, Mary Nash and Scotty Becket.

The supporting feature is “Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever,” being a brilliant picture of the Hardy series.
