NAVY LEAGUE
SPINNING CIRCLE. APPEAL FOR BLACK WOOL. The Navy League Spinning Circle held a meeting at the residence of Miss Morrison, Lansdowne, last Friday afternoon. The Spinning Circle was organised by Miss K. Morrison and now has 22 members, who have been meeting every week and have spun 32Jlbs of wool during the last two months. As home-spun wool retains the natural oil and does not readily absorb water, it is paiticulaily suitable for garments for seamen, especially seaboot' stockings which are urgently needed. To enable the Spinning Circle to carry on with their excellent work, fleeces, preferably black, are required, and it is hoped that farmers who are able to do so will donate . fleeces for this purpose. An appeal is being made asking donors of fleeces to ring the president, Mrs S. R. Gawith (tel. 2201) or the secretary, Miss A. Sellar (tel. 1219).
