ATTACK ON CONVOY
REPORTED BY GERMANS .NUMBER OF SHIPS SUNK. INCLUDING DESTROYER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 29. The German News Agency claims that U-boats torpedoed fourteen heav-ily-laden merchantmen in a stronglyescorted convoy bound from England to Gibraltar. The pursuit, the agency alleges, lasted for six days and the greater part of the convoy was destroyed. A British destroyer was sunk.
