NAZIS FORTIFYING AEGEAN ISLANDS NEW AIRFIELDS BUILT. ITALIAN DESTROYERS TAKEN OVER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 29. An Ankara report states that the Germans are secretly occupying and fortifying Italian islands in the Aegean Sea for the purpose of supporting any attack on Turkey. It is also reported from Athens that the Germans are sending troops from Greece to these inlands in Greek schooners during curfew hours. Ten new airfields have been built in the Dodecanese Islands and several Italian destroyers stationed in these bases have been taken over by the Germans.
