STOCK MARKET
MASTERTON SALE PRICES GOOD THROUGHOUT. PRACTICALLY TOTAL CLEARANCE. The Associated Auctioneers report as follows:—A small yarding of sheep and cattle came forward at the Masterton sale yesterday. Prices were good throughout and practically a total clearance was affected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep—Fat shorn ewes, 21s Id to 13s; fat shorn maiden ewes and wethers, to 19s; fat shorn hoggets, to 18s 6d; fat shorn b.f.'s, to 18s 3d; woolly ewes with b.f. lambs at foot. 10s to 15s, all counted; light fat woolly b.f. hoggets, to 20s lOd.
Pigs—Slips, 20s, 22s to 235. Cattle— 2yr empty P.A. heifers, to £6 Ils; 3yr empty S.H. heifers, to £6 10s; S.H. heifers r.w. bull ,to £4 18s; fat S.H. heifers, to £8 17s 6d; fat S.H. cows, to £8 15s; light fat cows. £6 6s to £6 10s; cows and calves, £5 Ils to £6; store cows, £3 7s 6d, £3 18s to £4 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 to £4; Jersey heifers just calved, to £7 10s.
