PARK CLUB PROGRESSIVE PAIRS CONTEST. An enjoyable day was spent by the thirty-two bowlers taking part in the progressive pairs tournament at the Masterton Park Bowling Club’s rinks yesterday. The majority of the games were evenly contested, and good bowling was witnessed by the many interested onlookers. Five games were played. to a time limit of one hour, whilst the sixth and final game was of 21 ends. Three bowls were played instead of tire customary four, and this enabled more ends to be played, when playing to the time limit, and considerably lightened the work that is the lot of the leads in the pairs games, as well as tending to raise the standard of play.

C Moore was the successful lead, and R. Simpson the winning skip, each winning five games. Results are: Leads: Anstice and Drummond 41 wins; Andrews, Leigh, Winhall 4; Macpherson 31; Dugdale, Billings 3; Carpenter 21; P. Smith, Trevorrow, Manser, Spackman, Wallace 2; Green 0. Skips: H. Smith, E. Brown, Hornblow, Dixon 4 wins; Burke, Carr 3?; Fentcn, Kilgour, Shearer, Thompson, Christie 3; Ferguson 2; Gibbons, Monks, Halberg 1.
