AIR OFFENSIVE
CONTINUED WITH FULL VIGOUR
NANTES & HAMBURG AMONG TARGETS.
FIGHTERS ATTACK SHIPPING & LAND TARGETS.
LONDON, October 27. Last night the principal target of the R.A.F. ,bombers was Nantes. Docks and shipping were attacked at Cherbourg and at a port in Southern Norway. Bombers were again over Hamburg, where the weather was most favourable for bombing. Docks and other objectives were battered. Four aircraft are missing, but five of the crew of one were rescued at sea and landed in Britain.
Fighters carried out an offensive patrol over Northern France and the Bel-' gian Coast. They attacked enemy shipping as well as targets on land. Two enemy seaplanes were destroyed and three enemy fighters shot down. Bombers attacked a convoy off the Dutch coast. Two enemy bombers were destroyed off the east coast this afternoon. From today’s operations two bombers and nine fighters are missing.
