OBITUARY
MR JOHN JOSEPH COTTER. The death occurred suddenly at Martinborough yesterday of Mr John Joseph Cotter, a pioneer settler of theWairarapa. The late Mr Cotter was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Pierce Cotter and was born at Greytown 67 years ago. Over 40 years ago he took up farming at the Miki Miki, later going to Woodville and Halcombe. For the past eleven years he had lived in retirement in Martinborough where he was greatly esteemed for his many sterling qualities. The late Mr Cotter married a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Richard Tankersley, of Mt. Bruce. He leaves a wife, one son (Mr G. P. Cotter) and three daughters (Miss Cotter, Mrs H. Warman, and Mrs J. Pratt) all of whom reside in Martinborough; two brothers, Messrs, F. C. H. Cotter (Te Wharau), Pierce Cotter (Masterton) and one sister, Mrs Moran (Australia) who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral Will take place tomorrow, leaving the late residence, Martinborough, following a service at 1.30 p.m., for the Masterton Cemetery and arriving there at 3 p.m,
