MOONEE VALLEY MEETING CUP WON BY YOURS TRULY. BEAU VITE SCORES IN PLATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, October 26. The former New Zealand Cup winner, Yours Truly, ran his best race in Australia when he won the Moonee Valley Gold Cup. A hostile demonstration, however, greeted his victory, as last Wednesday he failed to 'run into a place in the Werribee Cup, for which he was favourite. The trainer, Frank Dalton, deserved the success, as he prepared the unlucky Silver Standard. True Flight may have won, but was carried out wide at the turn by Reading, who was a good fourth considering the interruption in the preparation. Son of Aurous finished fast for third and enhanced his Melbourne Cup prospects. Rivette disappointed. Beau Vite had to be ridden right out to win the W. S. Cox Plate, and whether his performance was up to Melbourne Cup requirements was a matter of opinion. Beau Vite was inclined to loaf in the middle stages, but came home very fast, covering the last halfmile in 48|. Tranquil Star was a game second. Laureate directed attention to his Derby chance by finishing fast for third. Cmapo recorded a smart win in the Phoenix Handicap. He won in the last stride after meeting interference. .Manuere was third in the same event.
