SILK STOCKINGS

SOME SENT TO NURSES IN EGYPT. THROUGH PATRIOTIC BOARD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This .Day. Although the silk stocking shortage in New Zealand is common knowledge the country has been able to provide some for members of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service in the Middle East. These are of grey and are not among the shades most in demand by women here. Moreover they represent really an exchange or part of an exchange, so many stockings having been sent by men from Egypt to New Zealand. Apparently the shades in demand by women have been procurable in Egypt, but not the grey shade worn by nurses. • The stockings sent to the nurses are through the Patriotic Fund Board. A gift of 108 pairs was acknowledged by Miss Nutsey on August 23.
