RICH NEW DISCOVERIES IN RUSSIA FAR BEHIND FIGHTING FRONT. SPEEDY EXPLOITATION PLANNED (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) LONDON, October 24. The discovery of new sources of raw material in the distant rear of the Russian front continues uninterruptedly, says a Soviet news message. New manganese deposits, amounting to many millions of tons, have been discovered in the Bashkir Republic and the southern end of the Urals. The discovery Will leliminate the necessity for importing manganese. Rich jnew oil sources have been found in the past few weeks. Prospectors have discovered new oil pockets in the Kosumizmailovo district, near the Naftalan oilfield. Drilling has begun and several new wells will be completed within a fortnight. Iron ore miners in the Urals are far ahead of production schedules. Two mines have already produced an output which was planned for the whole of this;, year.
