TANK PRODUCTION
DOUBLING IN UNITED STATES' PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S ANNOUNCEMENT. FIRST MOVE IN LONG-TERM PLAN. LONDON, October 24. President Roosevelt announces that the tank production of the United ‘States is to be doubled immediately. In making this announcement at a Press conference, the President said this was the first move in the longterm plan to build a huge reservoir of war material to defeat the Axis, powers. Tanks were chosen first, because of the urgent need for them.
