TORPEDOED & SUNK
THE BRITISH DESTROYER BROADWATER FORMER AMERICAN VESSEL. U-BOAT ATTACKED ON PREVIOUS DAY. LONDON, October 24. The Admiralty reports the loss of the destroyer Broadwater. She was torpedoed and sunk while on escort duty in the North Atlantic. Only on the previous day she had attacked and probably destroyed a Üboat. The Broadwater was on of the 50 United States destroyers handed over to Britain and is the second, to be sunk.
