Miss Hogg, Church Street, Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Miss McGrath, Seatoun, is spending the week-end in Masterton. Miss Junker, Tinui, is the guest of Mrs Miller Hope, Macara Street, Masterton. Miss Cruickshank, Cole Street, Masterton, is spending a few days with Miss Oates, Western Lake, Featherston. Mr and Mrs Warwick Thompson, of Khandallah, are visiting Masterton for the weekend. Mr and Mrs G. G. Tolhurst, Cole Street, Mastertpn, who have been staying at Paraparaumu Beach, have returned to Masterton. The pride of New Zealanders in the exploits of the late Flying Officer Edgar Kain, D.F.C., was evident to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Kain, at Auckland yesterday afternoon, when a warm welcome was extended to Mrs. Kain on her arrival at Auckland by the Pacific Clipper from San Francisco. Mr. Kain travelled from Wellington with his married daughter to meet Mrs Kain, and when the Clipper arrived she was greeted also by the mayor of Auckland, Mr. Allum. A civic reception was later given by the mayor and mayoress. ’
