REGENT THEATRE
“THE POWER AND THE GLORY,” The thrilling exploits of the Royal Australian Air Force are romantically pictured in “The Power and the Glory,” an Australian-made picture, which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. The film has achieved for itself the enviable reputation of being described by critics as the finest picture yet produced in Australia, It was made by Argosy Films at National Studios, Pagewood, and at Figtree, and immediately on completion was previewed by executives of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, who were so impressed with the production that arrangements were entered into whereby this company would handle “The Power and the Glory’ r throughout Australia and New Zealand. Thus, having secured the hallmark ■■ of M.G.M., “The Power and the Glory” has become one of the most outstanding attractions of the year. “The flying sequences at the end —when our own bombers and coastal patrol sink an enemy U-boat,” says an Australian critic, “provide some of the most exciting incidents I have ever known in pictures.” “The Power and the Glory” -stars Katrii Rosselle, who made her stage debut in Australia in “I Married An Angel” and has since embarked upon a movie career in Hollywood.
