SEVEN AWARDS
NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN OFFICIAL ADVICE. SIX D.F.C’s. AND ONE AIR FORCE CROSS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This. Day. Official advice has been received by Air Headquarters, Wellington, that six Distinguished Flying Crosses and one Air Force Cross have been awarded to New Zealanders serving with the Royal Air Force. The awards are as follow: — DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS. Wing Commander John Sterling McLean (next, of kin - at.time of enlistment, father, Mr W. R. McLean, 55 Collins Street, Hawera). Squadron Leader Marcus William Bower Knight (next-of-kin, mother, Mrs A. B. Knight, Dannevirke). Flight Lieutenant Derek Harland Ward (next-of-kin, father, Dr. S. H. Ward, Bank Street, Whangarei). Acting Flight Lieutenant James Chilton Francis Hayter (next-of-kin, father, Mr G. G. Hayter, Port Hardy, D’Urville Island). Acting Flight Lieutenant Charles Roy Bush (next-of-kin, mother, Mrs M. R. Bush, 11 Maurice Terrace, Wellington) . Flying Officer William lan Anstey (next-of-kin, father, Mr N. H. Anstey, Kingsdown, Timaru). AIR FORCE CROSS. Squadron Leader Douglas Warnes Morrish (next-of-kin, father, Mr G. H. Morrish, Whangarei).
