FEATHERSTON
CRICKET CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Featherston Cricket Club was well attended.. The balance sheet showed a good credit balance and, in addition, £l5 had been invested in National Savings Certificates. The election of officers resulted as follow: —Chairman, Mr A. Tait; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. A. Lett; club captain and co-trustee, Mr C. Buck; hon. auditor, Mr C. Ritchie; delegates to the Combined Sports Committee, Messrs C. Buck and D. Howell. The Management Committee is to consist of all financial members. The annual report showed that in spite of the present conditions the club had had quite a successful season, games having been played against the Dalefield, Greytown, Matarawa,_ Cross Creek and a team from the Wellington railway station staff. It was decided to continue operations this season as a Sunday club and not to enter a team in the Wairarapa Cricket Association's competition. Members who wished to play in the Saturday competition were urged to join the Martinborough Club. It was decided to hold a working bee on Sunday morning for the purpose of putting the cricket pitch in order.
MINIATURE RIFLES MARRIED v SINGLE MATCH. The Featherston Miniature Rifle Club fired a match, married versus single, the former winning by 639 points to 624 points., A lamb donated by Mr B. Williams was won by Mr C. Jury. The final competition of the season will be held next Thursday. Personal. Mr and Mrs T. Brown, Wellington, and Mrs Bailey, Ashhurst, are the guests of Mrs McKenna, Pahautea.
