AGAINST FORMER FRENCH LEADERS ALLEGATIONS OF LACK OF ENERGY. INSUFFICIENT PREPARATIONS. IBv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) VICHY, October 17. The Council of Political Justice has formulated the following charges against former prominent politicians: M. Daladier: The Government led by M. Daladier permitted France to enter the war lacking sufficient preparations. General Gamelin: As the result of lack of energy and weakness of character, General Gamelin allowed armament deficiencies to become aggravated. During the war he disorganised the High Command by disastrous decisions, and allowed the army to sink to a state of material arid moral inferiority. M. Blum: Before the war M. Blum knew the deficiencies in national defence, but failed to give France the arms necessary to assure her security. M. Cot: He disorganised the air force, encouraged indiscipline and supplied the Spanish Popular Front with aircraft needed by France. M. Lachambre: When he was Air Minister good projects were rendered ineffective as the result of his weakness.
M. Jacomet: As Controller of Armaments he was guilty of culpable negligence and for France’s lack of industrial preparation.
