RONGOKOKAKO
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women’s Institute was held in the hall when Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen presided over a good attendance. A letter was received from a district soldier thanking the Institute for a parcel which he had received and which was in perfect order. Mrs R. Littler offered to make the birthday cake and Mrs J. Payne to ice it. Mrs Hancock, Putara, gave a very interesting talk on the work of the correspondence School. The competitions for the month resulted as follows: —Knitted Pop-Eye Jersey (for refugees), Mrs Smith and Mrs Farfeita equal 1; best flower, Mrs Baucke 1, Mrs B. Morris 2. Tins of biscuits were brought for soldiers' parcels. A large collection of clothing and knitting made by the members is to be sent to refugees. A hearty 'vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Hancock and Mrs Mason, judges of the competitions. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Oikel and Mrs K. Faulknor.
