ABORTIVE AIR ATTACK

ON BRITISH BATTLESHIP IN MERITERRANEAN.

An unsuccessful torpedo attack by air on British battleships in the eastern Mediterranean in sight of Alexandria was made by three Italian aircraft. Three torpedoes were launched and all missed.

Anti-aircraft fire drove the planes off and they were pursued by fighters. It is believed that one was brought down.
