PRICE FIXED

SCHOOL EXERCISE BOOKS. STANDARD SPECIFICATION (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 15. A price order has been gazetted, fixing the maximum retail price which may be charged anywhere in New Zealand for exercise books and writing pads for use in primary schools. The prices now fixed relate to books which will conform to specifications set out in a standard issued by the New Zealand Standards Institute. Specifications of the books in question have been drawn up after consultation with manufacturers and members of the teaching profession. The range specified in the price order will cover all requirements of exercise books for primary schools throughout the Dominion. A purchaser will now be able to obtain the book which will best suit his purpose and yield the most service in relation to the price paid.
