ARMY MOURNING FOR. LATE COMMANDER. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) BATAVIA, October 14. The Netherlands East Indies Army will be in mourning until November 14. During the opening of today’s session of the Volksraad, in the presence of members of the High Advisory Council, President Jonkman commemorated General Berenschot. General Ter Poort'en is arriving tonight at Bandung and taking over the Army command. Hundreds of condolences are pouring in to the War Department, including one from Air Chief Marshal Sir Robert Brooke-Popham. General Berenschot’s body has been taken to Bandung, escorted by motorised army units.
