RED CROSS SOCIETY WEEKLY CARD PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The sum of £1 15s was realised at the weekly card party held in the Red Cross Society’s Rooms yesterday afternoon. ■ Mesdames Wenden, O’Neal and Nichols were the card winners. Donations of goods were received from Mesdames McKenna and Batty. Competitions were won by Mesdames Worsley .and Chas. Skipage. Cash donations are gratefully acknowledged from the Tauherenikau Ladies’ Guild (£2 10s) and Mrs R. Tocker (£1 Is). Voluntary Aids. Mrs S. Cundy's residence has been rented for the use of the V.A.’s from northern and southern Wairarapa who are on duty at the Anzac Hall Hospital. ,k- Lady Galway Guild. Mil Card, president of the local branch of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild, acknowledges with thanks articles of clothing from Western Lake, Kahutara, Pahautea and Featherston. The goods have been packed and despatched to the Wellington headquarters. Cricket Club Meeting. The annual meeting of the Featherston Cricket Club will be held in the pavilion at the recreation ground on Wednesday night. District Nurse. A house has been secured in Harrison Street for the District Nurse. Personal. Mr H. Lovegrove, of the local exchange staff, left yesterday for Auckland where he will spend his annual leave.
