WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

UPPER PLAIN MEETING. DISPLAY OF CHRISTMAS NOVELTIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Upper Plain Women’s Institute Mrs Dagg presided over a fair attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Steer and Gillespie. A welcome was extended to Mrs Keir and Miss Wolters, voluntary organisers. Mesdames Mannell and Clements were elected delegates for the Council meeting which is to be held in Carterton this month.

Mrs Mannell displayed Christmas novelties and made suggestions for the same, for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was provided by the hostess, Mrs Clements.
