WRESTLING
BOUT IN WELLINGTON. BLOMFIELD AND CORBETT DRAW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. There was plenty of action in the professional heavyweight wrestling contest in the Wellington Town Hall last night between Joe Corbett, the American, and Lofty Blomfield, the New Zealand heavyweight champion, who was making his first appearance in a Wellington ring since his return from military service in Egypt. A scientific display of all-in wrestling fittingly ended in a draw. Blomfield took a fall in the fifth round with a barred toehold, and Corbett in the eighth round launched a flying tackle from outside the ropes and followed this up with a series of flying tackles which enabled him to even the falls with a body press.
