HEAVY FIRING

AT INTERVALS LAST NIGHT MOVEMENTS HEARD IN DARK. NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENT THIS MORNING. (By Telegraph-Press Association.) HOKITIKA, This Day. Sunday night operations at Koiterangi were signalised at about 10.30 p.m. with a heavy burst of Lewis and tommy-gun fire in the vicinity of the Koiterangi Hall. It is reported that watchers heard some movements in the dark and the firing followed. There were great bursts of firing at times,. but it is doubted if any one was seen. ■ The firing continued at intervals during several hours, without apparent re-'v suit. The itension amongst watchers \ is increasing every night. There have been no further developments this morning so far.
