“OLD BILL”
ORIGINAL BAIRNSFATHER’S. DEATH AT CHELSEA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 10. Claimed to be the original of Bruce Bairnsfather’s “Old Bill,” J. Merrigan died at Chelsea, aged seventy-four. He was exactly like the drawings. He served in the Warwickshire Regiment at the same time as Bairnsfather.
