MINISTER OF FINANCE

WORK FOR LABOUR PARTY APPRECIATED PRESENTATION BY MEMBERS. WARM TRIBUTE BY PREMIER. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. A tribute was paid today by members of the Parliamentary Labour Party and friends, including the Prime Minister, to the work of the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) not only during Mr Fraser's absence abroad, but since the earliest stages of the Labour movement. On behalf of the gathering, Mr Fraser paid an eloquent tribute to the sacrifices made by Mr Nash When the Labour Party had no headquarters. Mr J. O’Brien, as Chief Government Whip, eulogised Mr Nash’s hard work and great capacity. Mr Fraser, on behalf of his colleagues in Parliament, asked Mr Nash to accept a gentleman's tallboy, a razor and cuff-links.

Mrs Dreaver presented Mrs Nash with a handbag, with the good wishes of the party. Mrs Semple handed Mrs Nash a bouquet.
