NEW SHIPS
FOR OCEAN SERVICE. LAUNCHINGS IN CANADA. ’> (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) OTTAWA, October 6. The first large merchant ship in Canada’s war programme is to be launched at Montreal on October 9. A fortnight later the second will be launched on the Pacific Coast and thereafter there will be a steady procession of 18 more. The ships are of 9360 tons and cost 1,750,000 dollars each. Still more are planned.
