WORKING IN AFGHANISTAN REPORTED JOINT NOTE. FROM BRITAIN & RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 5. The Ankara radio stated that a joint British and Ru'psian note hag been handed to the Government of Afghanistan complaining of “Fifth Column” activities in that country.

On September 22 .the London “Daily Express” stated that the British hunt for enemy fifth columnists had been extended to Afghanistan, which Britain had requested to expel the Germans residing there. It was expected that the request would be granted. The Germans were not as numerous in Afghanistan as they had been in Iran.
